Course Catalog

The 2006-08 Chabot College Course Catalog is now available in the bookstore for a cost of $3.00.  If you wish to have a catalog mailed to you, please send a check payable to "Chabot College Bookstore" in the amount of $6.00 to cover the cost of the catalog and shipping and handling.  Our address is listed above.  Make sure that you include your name and mailing address.  Please allow 2 weeks for delivery.

Check Writing Policy

• Checks must be pre-printed with current name and address (no counter checks and no third party checks)
• Students may use a parent's check for purchases provided the student's California Drivers License or California ID shows the same address as on the check and the student's last name matches the last name on the check.  All other check writing policies must also be met.
• Checks are accepted for the amount of purchase only.
• You must show a print out of your current term class schedule (complete with Student Id number) and a valid California Drivers License.
• All checks are subject to approval by SCAN Systems.  Some checks may require bank verification.
• Returned checks will be assessed a fee of $20.00 Service Fee and a hold will be placed on your Chabot College records until all debts have been paid.  Unpaid checks are referred to the Alameda County District Attorney.
• WE DO NOT ACCEPT:  Company checks, third party checks, or out of state checks.  

Credit Card Policy

You must show a valid California Drivers License or California Identification Card issued by the California Department of Motor Vehicles.  We may accept a parent’s credit card for payment provided you have proper identification and a note from your parent authorizing the purchase.

Backpacks and other Personal items in the store

Backpacks, book bags, large handbags, tote bags, shopping bags, or books are not allowed into the store. Food and or Drinks are not allowed in any of the Chabot College Campus buildings.

Storage Lockers

Storage Lockers are conveniently located in front of the Bookstore entrance.  Bookstore patrons may place their belongings inside of a locker for safe storage while shopping inside the Bookstore.  Lockers may be used for a refundable fee of one quarter (No loose change).  If you do not have a quarter, our cashiers will make change for you.  Your quarter will be refunded when you retrieve your belongings.  Lockers are not for day long usage or overnight storage.  Lockers are cleaned out daily, and we do not accept responsibility for lost belongings.  A fee of $12.50 will be assessed for lost locker keys.

Parking Permits

Semester Parking Permits are only available on-line on ClassWeb.  The Bookstore is no longer selling Parking Permits.  A parking permit is required to park on the Chabot campus.  Parking regulations are strictly enforced.  Parking Permits are required on all vehicles and motorcycles.

$2 day passes are available from ticket dispensers located in each student parking lot.

 

Book Buyback

Most of the used books we sell are bought from our students during used book buy back.  Recycle those books!  Get up to 50% of the price you paid for your textbook if we have a book order for the Fall Semester and we need the book for our inventory.  The price you are offered is determined by book orders, our inventory needs, and national market value if we are not using the book.  We cannot buy back old editions, workbooks, course syllabi, or lab manuals.

 

Wholesale prices may be offered for books if we do not have a book order for it or if we have reached our quota on the book.  No receipt is required for used book buy back.  We do not guarantee the buy back of every book.

 ATM Machine

Need Cash?  Have that hot lunch date at the student cafeteria but forgot to go to the bank before school?  Not to worry!  There is an ATM machine conveniently located inside of the Chabot College Bookstore.  No need to rush to the bank between classes when you can get cash right here on Campus.  The ATM machine may be accessed during normal Bookstore hours.  Bank fees may apply.

• From San Francisco, take the Bay Bridge to I-880 South.  From I-880 South, take highway 92 West toward the San Mateo Bridge.  Exit to the right onto Hesperian Blvd. North.
• From Livermore, Dublin/Pleasanton, San Ramon and the San Joaquin Valley.  Take I-580 West to I-238 North to I-880 South.  From I-880 South, take highway 92 West toward the San Mateo Bridge.  Exit to the right onto Hesperian Blvd. North.
• From Oakland, Berkeley, Vallejo, Napa and points North.  Take I-80 West to I-880 South from I-880 South take highway 92 West toward the San Mateo Bridge.  Exit to the right onto Hesperian Blvd. North.
• From Palo Alto, Cupertino, Saratoga, take Highway 84 East across the Dumbarton Bridge and North on I-880.  From I-880 North take highway 92 West toward the San Mateo Bridge.  Exit to the right onto Hesperian Blvd. North
• From San Jose take I-880 North from I-880 North take highway 92 West toward the San Mateo Bridge.  Exit to the right onto Hesperian Blvd. North
• From the Peninsula take I-280 to 101 to highway 92 East across the San Mateo Bridge.  From highway 92 East take the Hesperian Blvd exit.  Turn left at the stop light onto Hesperian Blvd, passing over the freeway North.

The Bookstore is located on the Chabot College campus in Building 3800 between the gymnasium and the cafeteria just off the "B" student parking lot.
